SIMSUM ARTS

Pichwai is an art form that represents the portrait of  Lord Krishna (Sreenath ji) on fabric using a dark rich tone. This has deep religious roots and is done with the utmost devotion. So the main concept of this art form revolves around the manifestation of Krishna in the form of Shrinathji and refers to the incident of him holding the Govardhan hill on his last finger.

MAKING PICHWAI PAINTING

Originally Pichwai was painted on stretched cotton fabric. The artist would then sketch the art on that stretched cloth. Then they would decorate it and create beautiful images. Then they would paint the images with completely natural colors, paints, and even natural brushes. The borders are built up with crystals and other decorative elements.
