TYPES OF MADHUBANI ART

There are 5 different styles of Madhubani art. Following are the distinct styles:-

  1. bharni
  2. Kachni
  3. tantrik
  4. Gonda 
  5. kohbar

MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR MADHUBANI PAINTING

A list of Materials needed for Madhubani Painting:

1. Surface to paint on 

2. Acrylic paints

3. Nibs and nib holders for the outline, Rotring Isograph Pen (0.5mm)

4. Round Paint Brushes 

HOW TO DO MADHUBANI PAINTING

You can do a Madhubani painting in the following way:

Step 1

Take the canvas and start by sketching the border. 

Step 2

Try to understand what you want to paint and then  Start with the main character and fill the remaining space later. 

Step 3

To enhance the picture you can add patterns which are repeated or unique to one another.

Step 4

So when you start your painting understand your colours and make sure both the background and the main picture seem appealing.

Step 5

Once done with the background colour,  infuse bright colours in the foreground. 

Step 6

You can leave the background as it is or you can add some repeated patterns.
