SIMSUM ARTS

A manifestation of Lord Krishna, Srinathji is a figure who appears as a young boy aged seven. In the majority of Pichwai paintings, Srinathji is portrayed holding out his left hand to symbolize the moment when he shielded the villagers by supporting Govardhan Hill so they could take cover. Indra, the rain god, unleashed a rainstorm over the village in order to protect them from it.

Pichwai is a little type of art that is extremely precisely crafted and filled with minute details. When looking closely, it is possible to observe the flawless efforts of the workers and weavers.

One of the most distinctive aspects of Pichwai art is the elaborate jewelry on the statue of Srinathji. A gorgeous, lavish diamond is set not only on the button but also on the ring fingers in the artwork, which is identical to the god of Shrinathji in the Holy City of Vrindavan who is known for having a diamond stud on his chin.
