Relief is a technique, where the elements such as clay or texture paste remain attached to the surface we are working on, this actually helps us give the 3D look. The literal meaning of relief is to raise. Reliefs give a very unique identity to the image and add dimension to the ordinary. Relief painting can be done by either cutting the surface or by adding layers to the surface.
